BRI wind farm in Montenegro

The Mozura Wind Park in southern Montenegro, a joint project within the framework of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), was inaugurated on Monday.

The wind farm, constructed jointly by the Shanghai Electric Power Company (SEP) and Malta state energy provider Enemalta, is set to stabilize the local power supply and help the country harness its rich renewable energy resources.

Construction of the wind farm started in 2017. All 23 turbines were transported to the site and installed by SEP before August 2018, and the testing period lasted for around one year.

Chairman of the SEP Wang Yundan announced that the wind farm will provide more than 112 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually for the Montenegrin people, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 95,000 tons.

Byton wins California distributor license

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) startup Byton said on Monday that it has received a distributor license from California, paving the way for the company to launch its first electric SUV, the Byton M-Byte, in the US.

The license will facilitate Byton to sell and service vehicles through its own infrastructure as well as via retail partners in the country.

The company will launch its electric SUV in China in 2020 and in the United States and the European Union in 2021.

Byton was launched in September 2017 by Future Mobility Corp, a company co-founded by former BMW and Nissan Motor executives.
