Local market supervision bureau in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang Province, inspected five companies which imported frozen white shrimps from Ecuador and all the samples tested negative for COVID-19 on July 11.

A batch of imported frozen shrimp from Ecuador have tested positive for coronavirus in Fuzhou, capital of East China's Fujian Province. This was the latest case related to cold-chains that have tested virus positive after at least six similar cases were reported in provinces including Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangsu and Liaoning in the last week.

A total of 277 packs of the shrimp (about 2,800 kilograms) were sealed up and stopped from entering the market in Fuzhou, according to a notice posted Sunday on the website of the Fuzhou local market watchdog.

Local authorities immediately sealed up the related products in question. So far, 215 related personnel have taken nucleic acid tests, which have all come back negative, said the watchdog.

For those close contacts and personnel directly exposed to the products, 11 of them have been put under isolated medical observation and 45 are under quarantine at home. The refrigeration facility has been sealed up and disinfected.

At least seven cases of cold-chain products testing coronavirus positive have been reported since December 2 around China in provinces including Shanxi, Anhui, Liaoning, Hubei and Zhejiang.

On Saturday, 43 people were placed under quarantine after a food sample tested positive for coronavirus in Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, local authorities said.
