EurAsEC, CIS countries vow to enhance customs cooperation

Kyrgyzstan hosted on Saturday the 42nd meeting of the heads of customs services of the EurAsEC Integration Committee and 55th meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).

Topical issues at the meetings include the implementation plan for the development of integrated automated control system of customs transit EurAsEC member states in 2012-2014, and a draft protocol to the agreement on a common commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activities of the Eurasian Economic Community.

Heads of customs services also reviewed the draft protocol on the cooperation of customs services among CIS countries in implementing post-entry control, developing a unified concept of risk management systems, as well as in fighting crimes.

During the meetings, bilateral documents were signed on customs procedures.

According to the press service of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan, the implementation of the decisions taken will enhance the level of practical cooperation, coordinated customs policy, and harmonization of national legislations.
