Jamie Hutchings, frontman of Australian noise-pop band Bluebottle Kiss, performs songs from his latest solo album Avalon Cassettes in Beijing this Thursday. The album puts an emphasis on surrealism, boasting eight songs with sagacious lyrics and creative melodies. Hutchings has previously toured the US and Europe. American songwriter Jess Meider performs in support.

Punk concert and auction @ 2Kolegas

A punk charity concert titled "Half the Punk" rocks for a good cause at 2Kolegas this Saturday. The concert consists of a punk history lecture titled "Inseparable" by author David O'Dell, an old school punk photography exhibition by Katherina Hesse and Wang Di, a punk rock auction for Chinese orphanage charity Half the Sky and a chamber punk concert. The concert's lineup includes A-Boys, Catcher in the Rye and Discord.
