Zhang Lei, 29, was sentenced by the Chaoyang court to 11 years in jail and fined 11,000 yuan ($1,766) for blackmailing a 58-year-old woman surnamed Yu, the Beijing Evening News reported Tuesday.

Zhang got to know Yu through online chatrooms. During a date in a hotel, Zhang secretly shot a video of Yu taking a shower in the bathroom.

On March 12, Zhang threatened to post stills of the video on the gate of the residential compound where Yu lives, unless she paid him 200,000 yuan. Zhang was arrested by local police when he came to get the money from Yu the next day.
