A minivan ran into a group of subway security check staff at Houshayu, Shunyi district Sunday afternoon, injuring five, the Legal Mirror reported Monday.

The group was walking along the sidewalk when the minivan suddenly rushed at them at 4 pm. One girl, whose head directly hit the window of the minivan, was severely injured.

The driver of the minivan said the brakes did not function well, and witnesses said the minivan ran the red light. The injured victims were sent to a nearby hospital.
