Leadership points way for national rise

This year's two sessions of China are seen as very important. It matters for the next 10 years after the leadership transition.

The outside world is thinking China is right at that point of when it is going to be No.1 and wondering how it prepares itself for that. This leadership is going to demonstrate that for the future of China and the world.

China's leadership is very careful. They are trying their best to ensure that China rises peacefully. There are great expectations from the new leadership.

They have already defined, and pointed out where China's problems are, like corruption, the gap between the rich and poor, the destruction of the environment, and social security, health, education and insurance for the people of China. Domestically, these are the major problems.

For that, the new leadership after the 18th CPC National Congress has very clearly given such messages by, for example, how to cut down on unnecessary expenses, how to take austere measures to cope corruption, and how to keep on the reform and opening-up for economic prosperity, but at the same time reduce the gap between rich and poor, and also protect the environment.

There is a conflict there. If you want to industrialize too much, then you may damage your environment. So I think the Chinese leadership is very seriously thinking about how to have a green and sustainable economy, and also how to ensure people get the kind of livelihood they deserve.

China wants to move toward socialism with Chinese characteristics, so it has to have more equality and ensure a harmonious society where all people can live together happily.

China's leadership is resolute about China's rise despite problems and challenges, which also causes many countries' worries. China's peaceful rise is just like a baby girl growing into a woman, or a young man growing into an old one. This is quite natural. I don't think other countries have to worry about that.

The thing is how this power can benefit the cause of humanity, I think the other countries should think about that and work together with China.

China has repeatedly said it wants to focus on its own people, it doesn't want to interfere in others' business, and that it wants national rejuvenation. I think we should trust China, let China contribute to this world what it wants to contribute.

China has to have tremendous patience, since there may be many countries with concerns on China's rise. China is in the Asia-Pacific region, and all the major global powers like the US, Japan, India and China are in this region.

In the regional sense as well as global sense, there may be some concerns, China has to have a lot of patience and very good diplomatic skills, as well as avoiding falling into conflicts, and trying to use its economic power for the development of society.
