An exhibit with 99 Buddha sculptures opened at the Capital Museum, of which more than 30 percent were unveiled to Beijingers for the first time, the Legal Mirror reported.

The sculptures are categorized according to the era and region in which they were produced, said the exhibit curator. A section of the exhibition focuses on sculpture-making, marking the first time such methods have been revealed to the public. Most of the pieces in the exhibit belong to overseas collectors; the most expensive is valued at 200 million yuan. The exhibition, which lasts until November 28, is free to the public.
