US Kerry to join the EU, US, Russia and Ukraine talks in Geneva

US Secretary of State John Kerry will join the four-party talks over Ukraine situation scheduled to be held next week in Geneva, a statement from US mission in Geneva said on Friday.
European Union, US, Russia and Ukraine are going to hold a meeting in Geneva on April 17 as part of diplomatic efforts to tackle the Ukraine crisis, confirmed earlier today by the EU side.
Kerry will travel to Geneva on April 17 to join Catherine Ashton, the EU's foreign policy chief, for the meeting, according to the statement from US Mission to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva.
"Secretary Kerry will continue efforts to deescalate the situation in Ukraine and find a diplomatic path forward," said the statement.
During the EU-US Summit which was held in Brussels in March, the leaders of EU and US vowed to support Ukraine and "intensify sanctions" on Russia if things "further escalating."
