The first epilepsy treatment center for children has been established at Peking University First Hospital. It's the first in China to only serve juveniles, the Beijing Times reported.

According to director Jiang Yuwu, the center integrates pediatric surgery, neuroimaging, rehabilitation and psychological treatments. He said that  the prognosis for child epilepsy patients is good if they receive treatment early. However, compared with adult patients, they do not receive sufficient attention with regard to clinical research or drug development.

Jiang said this center will lay the foundation for building more comprehensive medical centers for epilepsy in China.
