According to the Beijing Federation of Labor Unions, starting from May 2014, qualified workers can be exempted from paying registration fees in certain hospitals; they will also enjoy free screening, treatment, and rehabilitation for common diseases, the Beijing Times reported.

The federation said that the registration fee exemption will be launched at the China Rehabilitation Research Center and that rehabilitation services will be available at the service stations of local labor unions.

Additionally, the new policy will offer free testing for certain career-related conditions, such as respiratory diseases and tumors for sanitation workers, bone and joint diseases and urinary system diseases for taxi drivers, and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases for highly skilled professionals.
