The old chimes museum at the Dazhong Temple in Haidian district was reopened to the public on October 16, after more than 30 million yuan ($4.9 million) was spent on renovations over two years, reported the Beijing Youth Daily.
The ancient roofs and walls have been mended and the exhibition hall re-molded. The museum has also used modern 3D technology and digital scanning to present the well-known Yongle Bell, allowing audiences see the entire inscription of 230,000 Chinese characters through the projector.
