Beijing's tourism market has seen a boom during the mandated holidays of November 7 to 12 for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, with outbound travel booked through tourism agencies increasing by 30 to 50 percent, the Beijing Daily reported.

Tong Jun, marketing director of Comfort Travel, said that sales of their tour group packages have increased threefold compared to the same period last year. According to online travel agency ctrip.com, the most popular outbound domestic travel destinations in China during the APEC holidays have been Sanya in Hainan Province, Shanghai and Xiamen in Fujian Province, while the most popular outbound international travel destinations have been the Maldives, Thailand and Japan.
