Leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine will hold a teleconference on Sunday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency.

Earlier reports said that the situation of cease-fire in eastern Ukraine and further proposals for the resolution of the crisis will be discussed at their telephone talks.

Ukrainian forces and independence-seeking insurgents in Ukraine observed a cease-fire as from midnight Sunday (2200 GMT Saturday) as written in the Minsk peace agreement.

Officials of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics confirmed that militia forces of the two republics have ceased fire.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Saturday issued an order of cease-fire in the conflict zones in the country's southeastern Donbass region as from midnight Sunday.

On Thursday, the leaders of the four countries announced a peace deal for an end to fighting in eastern Ukraine, following marathon talks in the Belarusian capital of Minsk.

The agreement envisaged a cease-fire between the conflicting sides in Ukraine starting on Sunday, to be followed by the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the front line and constitutional reform to give eastern Ukraine more powers.
