 24 - the area in square meters of the actual effective application area of the Austin Mecent HM430 air purifier, which was advertised as having an effective application area of 130 square meters. The revelation was made after investigation by a China Central Television (CCTV) program, which also found that several other air purifiers exaggerated their effectiveness in promotional materials. Austin Air China has released a statement on its website in response disputing CCTV's report. The company maintains the advertised measurements for all their products are correct.

20 - the number of subway stations whose public toilets will be renovated before the end of this year. According to Beijing Subway Company, renovation of subway station public toilets has already begun on Lines 5 and 10, and will be finished by the end of April. The subway stations that will have their toilets renovated include Guomao, Jinsong and other twelve subway stations.

380,000 - the amount in yuan ($61,211) that a hospital in Beijing's Fengtai district was ordered to pay in compensation to the family of a deceased cancer patient, who was incorrectly diagnosed five times over the period of three months in 2012. The deceased man, surnamed Wu, was repeatedly told by the doctor at the hospital that he had "excessive internal heat," and advised him to drink more chrysanthemum tea to get better. Eventually, Wu went to another hospital where he was diagnosed with terminal throat cancer. He died less than a year later.

14,000 - the number of people who underwent mental health examinations out of around 5 million people who went in for general health checkups last year in Beijing, according to Du Bing, vice director of Beijing Health Management Association. The association added mental health onto its list of suggested items when undergoing a general health checkup last year. Currently, only around 10 percent of medical providers in Beijing offer mental health examination services.
