Jingyitong, a patient ID card with banking functions jointly issued by the Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals and the Bank of Beijing in 2012, has recently been improved to include WeChat payments, the Legal Mirror reported.

The Jingyitong card is for patients coming to Beijing from other cities and patients not covered by Beijing's local medical insurance.

Patients can transfer money into the card to pay for medical service in Beijing.

According to the administration, patients can follow the public WeChat account of Jingyitong, register to see a doctor and pay through WeChat, and they also can get medical consultation service online.
