A man surnamed Liu was recently charged in the Huairou district court with the crime of sheltering others to take drugs, following the overdose death of a 19-year-old girl, the Beijing Morning Post reported.

In March 2015, the girl got to know Liu through friends and went to Liu's house to smoke crystal meth with him. The girl later died due to an overdose.

Because the incident occurred within five years of Liu's last conviction for gambling, the prosecution is labeling this as recidivism, and seeking a harsher punishment.

Liu has pled guilty and is awaiting a sentence.
