Chery A3 to be launched Thursday, price not fixed yet

Chery Auto will launch its new A3 model in Xiamen, Fujian Province on 12, July, but the price has not been disclosed yet, according to Chery Monday.
The New Chery A3 carries a DVVT engine with dual Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and VIS Variable Length Intake Manifold (VLIM) system, improving dramatically the engine power of the A3. The maximum power of the new A3 1.6-litre-DVVT is 93kW/6, 150rpm; the maximum torque is 160 N•M /3,900rpm and the maximum power per liter 58kW/L. The price for the 1.6-litre-Cruze with lower configuration starts at 100,000 yuan (about $14,780).
The current price of Chery A3 is 74,800 yuan -102,800 yuan. Roewe 550, Cruze, Focus and Mazda 3 will rival with the new CheryA3 in power performance and their starting prices are all above 100,000 yuan. So how A3's price will be determined is hard to say under such a marketing environment.
High oil prices make customers favor more on low petrol consumption cars, and the new A3 is more fuel-efficient by carrying a DVVT engine.
