Chery sets foot in fork truck

After entry to ship-building industry in 2008, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. is putting its hands on fork truck manufacturing, with the first vehicles to be ready soon, Shanghai Securities News reported June 10.

The newly established Wuhu Ruichuang Fork Truck Co., Ltd. will mainly produce one-to-ten tonnage battery fork truck, diesel fork lift truck, large-tonnage vehicles, and other loaders, aiming at an output of 30,000 units.

As for the improved fork truck models designed for low-carbon economy, the company plans 900 units of output, with sales of 700 this year and 3,000 units for 2011.
