BYD, FAW, Chery may have problems with their tires

According to Ce.cn, China's major auto makers may have more customers complaining about using defective Jinhu and Hantai tires.

Last month there were reports that Kumho and Hankook tires had bulges and lateral cracks after running less than 10,000 kilometers, when their life span should be 60,000 kilometers.

BYD F series, FAW's Mazda 6, Hongqi, Besturn and Chery QQ series are all using tires made by Kumho and Hankook. Analysts say there might be over 10 million vehicles using Kumho and Hankook tires.

None of the automakers have so far stepped forward to respond to the allegations about the Kumho and Hankook tire problems.
