The first dog

Obama adopted a Portuguese water dog in April this year, to fulfill his promise to his daughters on Election Night when he won the presidency. The then six-month old "First Dog” was a gift from the late Senator Ted Kennedy and his wife. The dog was named Charlie by his original owners, but the first daughters rechristened him Bo in honor of their cousin's cat of the same name.
