Bloomberg wins 3rd term as New York mayor

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg won a third term on Tuesday after defeating his Democratic challenger Bill Thompson, local media reported.

With 91 percent of the votes counted, Bloomberg, an independent candidate, was leading Thompson 50 to 47 percent, according to NY1 television.
