AMBASSADOR’S NEW YEAR’S GREETING, 2010
My family and I are delighted to be celebrating the Spring Festival here in China. We are well-familiar with the importance of this time of year, when people throughout the country return to their laojia to meet up with family and friends, and renew ties of hearth and home. My family and I will be visiting Beijing’s famed temple fairs, eating candied hawthorn, and enjoying the fireworks.
As we start the Year of the Tiger, I look forward to continuing to strengthen the U.S.-China relationship. In the coming year, we hope to welcome President Hu Jintao to the United States and to continue positive and cooperative practices at the next round of the Strategic & Economic Dialogue. I’m committed to ensuring that the cooperation between our two countries will enhance the bilateral relationship, and meet the challenges currently facing the global community.

我的家人和我很高兴在中国这里庆祝春节。我们非常熟悉一年中这个时候的重要性，当全国各地的人们返回他们的老家，与家人和朋友见面，重续家庭生活纽带的时候。我的家人和我将访问北京的著名庙会，品蜜饯山楂，并享受烟花。
在我们开始虎年之际，我期待着继续加强美中关系。在未来一年，我们希望欢迎胡锦涛主席到美国来，并在下一轮战略和经济对话中继续积极与合作的做法。我致力于确保我们两国之间的合作将加强双边关系，迎接目前全球社会正面临的挑战。
