In 2009, the Chinese government and people successfully dealt with the impact of the international financial crisis after having made great efforts, the country’s economy has witnessed a sound recovery, which is really admirable. Israel also managed to recover quite well from the global crisis.

In 2009, Israel and China jointly sponsored Experience China cultural activities in Israel, which have brought our two nations closer together. 

In the coming year, Israel will participate in 2010 Shanghai World Expo, Israel attaches great importance to the upcoming event and is now building the biggest and most beautiful Israel Pavilion ever built. I wish this largest ever event sponsored by China great success!  Israel and China are also celebrating the 18th anniversary of diplomatic relations.  According to Jewish culture, the number 18 symbolizes life and is an auspicious number. Therefore, we are full of expectations for the year 2010.

I hereby sincerely wish, on behalf of the Israeli people, the Global Times readers good health, prosperity and happiness in the Year of Tiger!
