The iQiyi All-Star Carnival, held by Chinese streaming platform iQiyi, was released on Friday night. Many Chinese celebrities such as actor Xiao Zhan, who starred in the hit TV drama The Untamed, and the popular boy band TFboys attended the gala for performances or awards. However, what should have been a fun night for all ended up otherwise for some after a mistake in the performance lineup angered TFboys fans.

Prior to the gala, a program listed TFboys - Jackson Yee, Karry Wang and Roy Wang - as one of the performances for the night, leading many of their fans to purchase tickets and travel from all corners of the country to attend the show.

Disappointing fans, the three members never took the stage that night.

"I am not a TFboys fan, but I also felt very angry. iQiyi should not have made such a bad arrangement, which did not respect the stars or their fans from around the country," one Sina Weibo user commented.

Chinese netizens expressed sympathy for Yuzuru Hanyu, a Japanese male figure skater with a huge following in China, after he failed to win the 2019 Grand Prix championship.

Hanyu earned a silver medal at the contest held in Italy on Saturday, losing to Nathan Chen from the US. However, the results have been questioned by Chinese netizens.

Chen received 335.3 points while Hanyu's score was 291.43 points. Chinese netizens thought that Hanyu was graded unfairly and asked for an explanation from the International Skating Union.

"I have studied figure skating for five years and Hanyu's performance should not have been graded so low," one Sina Weibo user posted.
