As Air Macau NX020 landed in Beijing Daxing International Airport at 12:30 pm on Monday, it has shown that the Macau Airlines has officially opened a route from Beijing Daxing to Macao.

Previously, there were four daily flights from Beijing Capital International Airport to Macao. With this new route, the carrier now has five daily flights in total at two airports in Beijing.

Chen Hong, Chief Executive Officer of Air Macau said at the ceremony that the move shows the carrier officially operates in two airports in one city, and the airlines will unswervingly advance the strategy of the aviation industry, and help Macao's prosperity and development with practical actions.

Setting up in 1994, Air Macau has 23 airlines, extending to 27 destinations, and it has transported more than 44 million passengers by the end of 2019, according to a note the carrier sent to the Global Times.

Air Macau celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, and it is widely believed that the carrier will win more opportunities with the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Beijing Daxing International Airport is one of the largest airports in the world, with strong tech features, such as paperless access, and facial recognition for boarding. It is expected that by 2025 the traffic in the airport will reach 72 million.
