France, Germany and Britain are offering a package of financial aide close to 5 million euros ($5.6 million) with material support to help Iran combat the spread of COVID-19, announced the three European countries signatories of 2015 Iran nuclear deal (E3) in a joint statement on Monday.

"The material will be transported urgently by plane March 2 and will include equipment for laboratory tests, as well as other equipment, including protective body suits and gloves," said the statement.

"The E3 has also committed to providing urgent additional financial support close to 5 million euros to fight the COVID-19 epidemic affecting Iran, through the WHO or other UN agencies," it added.
