China is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Czech Republic in fighting against the coronavirus epidemic, after a Czech military plane carrying 150,000 testing kits leaving from China on Tuesday night, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said on Wednesday.

"China pays close attention to the situation of the coronavirus epidemic in the Czech Republic and shares the difficulties faced by the Czech government and people," Geng told reporters.

The Czech military plane, carrying 150,000 testing kits, landed in Prague at 2:30 am on Wednesday morning, Czech media Prague Morning reported.

"When the Czech people are facing difficulties at this moment, China will give the Czech Republic support and help within its ability," Geng said.

Czech has reported 434 cases of the new virus as of Tuesday evening.

China is willing to further strengthen communication and cooperation with Czech, work together to fight the epidemic in the next stage and maintain public health security in both countries and the world, Geng said.

At the beginning of March, a chartered plane dispatched by the Czech government carrying five tons of humanitarian aid arrived in China, including 780,000 pairs of gloves, 43,000 masks and respirators and 6,800 sets of protective clothing to help China combat the epidemic, the Embassy of Czech Republic in China said.
