cry tears of joy

(xǐjíérqì)

A: Our dog went missing a few days ago. This morning it suddenly came back on its own!

(wǒménjiā xiǎoɡǒu qiánjǐtiān zǒudīu le. jīntiān zǎochén jūrán zìjǐ yòuhuílái le!)

B: That's really great!

(shízài tàihǎo le!)

A: This morning I thought I heard him barking outside. I opened the door and rushed out and saw that it really had returned. I actually cried tears of joy.

(wǒzǎochén sìhū tīnɡdào tāzài mén wàimiàn jiào. dǎkāimén chōnɡchūqù yīkàn zhēnde shìtā huílái le. wǒdānɡshí zhēnde yào xǐjíérqìle.)

B: Don't you live on the sixth floor? How did it get into the elevator and go up?

(nǐménjiā bùshì liùlóu me? tāshì zěnme jìnde diàntī, shànɡde lóu ne?)

A: It probably followed someone else into the elevator.

(kěnénɡ ɡēnzhe biérén jìnde diàntī ba.)

B: Well however it happened, it's good that it is back.

(bùɡuǎn zěnyànɡ, huílái le jiùhǎo.)
