Chinese President Xi Jinping extended warm congratulations to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and the Russian people on the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War in a phone call with Putin on Friday, the third since March.

Russia opposes attempts to blame China using the COVID-19 pandemic, and will stand firmly with China, Putin said in the phone call.
