A little kid had his head stuck in burglar mesh with his body hanging out of the building on Monday in South China's Guangzhou. Luckily, the kid living on third floor of the building was saved by a courier who climbed up the building with his bare hands. Sadly, not all kids in similar cases are as lucky. For example, a nine-year-old boy fell off a fifth-floor-balcony on May 14, but never had the chance to reopen his eyes again. Although Chinese society has been attaching increasing attention to the safety of kids in recent years, many adults have failed to take enough care to safeguard their home. Worse, many kids are left alone at home. Children are not usually mature enough to realize dangers. Adults should therefore stop taking for granted that their little ones can safely mind themselves at home alone. We have been through tragedies.
