China demands that the China-based branches of Associated Press, United Press International (UPI), CBS and NPR declare in written form the information about their staff, finance, operation and real estate in China within 7 days starting from Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry announced.

The countermeasures China was forced to take in response to #US' upgraded discrimination and restrictions on Chinese media in the US are purely self-defense, a spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
