A fugitive in Baoding, North China's Hebei Province, has been sentenced to 15 years for killing his roommate, who was allegedly always trying to pull down his pants, media reported on Tuesday.

The defendant, surnamed Liu, committed the crime in 2006 and had been on the run for years until he was caught by police in 2018.

Liu met the victim, surnamed Chen, in Gaoyang county in 2006. After Liu brought Chen back to his house, Chen began to tease Liu, and tried to take off his pants, according to Liu.

Liu tried to resist Chen's attempts but failed. After getting angry at his behavior, the two fought. Liu eventually picked up a brick and hit Chen in the head several times until he started bleeding and stopped moving.

Liu then fled to other places. It was only in 2012 that he returned to Hebei and was arrested at an Internet café in October 2018.

He finally received a 15-year sentence, given that he was still underage when he committed the murder, and that he confessed to the crime.
