Zhongnanhai cigarette's new manufacture base in Tongzhou district opened Monday, and the previous base for over 40 years will stop production.

It took over three years to complete the construction of the new plant, which is now the largest manufacture base for low tar blended cigarettes in the country. More than 500,000 cartons will be produced annually.

Besides the original brands of Zhongnanhai, a new brand called Blue Fashion, will come to market, and is priced around 15 yuan ($2.2) a packet, reported the Beijing Youth Daily.
