After CNN's most disgusting food list, Forbes has one too, again with double helpings of Chinese favorites like preserved eggs, drunken shrimp and bird's nest soup. Are Beijing's expats masochists for living in the capital of disgusting food land? What do you think of Chinese food? Have you tried other "disgusting" dishes on the list? What do you think is the world's most disgusting food? The Forbes list includes rujiu (fermented mare's milk), Icelandic fermented shark, snake wine, ba lute (boiled wool eggs), cat poop coffee, drunken shrimp, bird's nest soup, preserved egg, Casu Marzu (goat cheese with live maggots), and smalahove (which sounds fancy but is just a sheep's face). We sent Zhang Xin to find out.

No, I don't think Chinese foods are as disgusting as they said. I've never tasted these three Chinese foods, but I think Chinese food is very healthy. Most of the Chinese food contains nutrients and I think it's very good for the development of our body, generally. From the list, I've never tried any of the disgusting food here. Maybe I will say junk food, like burgers, are the most disgusting food. Because I don't think it can do anything to your body, it can only make you fat.

Chinese food is generally very good. It's very diverse, and each region has its own cuisine, and most of the cuisines are very tasty. Comparing to the food in US or Europe, it's more salty, that's my own observation. I usually stay with the menu, because I think it's too different from my taste. Bird's nest soup, I tried when I was traveling for a meeting, and I thought it was OK. Not so tasty, I don't love it, but it was not disgusting.

Ekaterina: I haven't tried them. But I like Chinese food very much. I've tried a lot of Chinese food here. I like the sauce, I like the cooking, I like the different kinds of meat. For me, the most disgusting food is spicy food, any other food is OK for me.

Valentin: I think the Chinese food is just so so for me except the duck. Because some sauces are too hot and too sweet for me, very strange. For me, the most disgusting food is some kind of barbecue I tried several days ago, I don't know its name, but it was really terrible.

Chinese food is generally good, only sometimes a little bit too hot for me. The most disgusting food I tried is a dish made by bees! Also, unhealthy food would make your food horrible no matter what it is.

No, I don't know these three, but most Chinese food is very nice. But I know a strong-smelling Chinese snack, it's tofu, but the smell is so terrible. The most disgusting food, I remember sauce bread from East Germany, the smell is so heavy, and I really, really don't like it!

I've never tried them before, but I don't think so. Chinese food is good, tasty and healthy. The most disgusting food I've ever tried is haslets from a cow, maybe. It was in Switzerland, and it was really disgusting.
