Nippon Paint has just collaborated with China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) to add more elements to the successful "Color, Way of Love" program. The training of teachers at the China Youth University for Political Sciences will be one of many new initiatives.
Back in 2009, Nippon Paint initiated "Color, Way of Love," and with the cooperation of the CYDF, over 80 Nippon Paint classrooms were built all over China. Nippon Paint is the first enterprise to provide funds to help art education in primary schools in the country and has already provided equipment and tools for art education. The art teacher training project aims to tackle the shortage of art teachers in the less developed areas of China.
Ariel Wu, PR and Brand Communication Director of Nippon Paint China, expressed that art is of utmost importance to the education of children. "Art is more than a subject. It can stimulate children's imagination. I hope through this project, all the teachers can sow the seeds of beauty and happiness in children's hearts."
Wu also noted that Nippon Paint participated in the writing process of textbooks for the project. "We hope to open more colorful doors to more and more children in the future," he said.
"I hope every teacher in this project can pursue art education as a life career just like me," said the textbooks' editor-in-chief, Zhang Huimei.
In 2012, Canon joined the charity platform "Color, Way of Love" as Nippon Paint's new partner. Lu Jie, Deputy Manager of Communication at Canon China, applauded this project. "The project shows that we encourage children to realize their dreams. Together, we already have two teachers from a primary school that is funded by the project, who want to undergo training in art."
Tu Meng, secretary-general from CYDF, expressed his gratitude to the two enterprises. "Nippon Paint uses its advantages as an enterprise to develop art education and fund art classrooms," he said.
The first training period will last for 10 days. Forty teachers from 23 sponsored primary schools from many provinces and cities, such as Hebei, Henan and Tianjin, will take part. The second training project will cover teachers from around 20 primary schools, including ones in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Anhui, Huibei and Hunan provinces.
Nippon Paint plans to provide more support to these primary schools. At the same time, they welcome enterprises, groups and individuals to join the "Color, Way of Love" charity platform to bring hope for children. Nippon Paint will continue to fulfill its social obligation to improve education in the future.
