Xu Linyin/Wu Penggen, China's only team in men's beach volleyball, suffered their second loss at the London Olympics on Monday.

The 2011 World Championship bronze medallists Julius Brink/Jonas Reckermann of Germany beat the Chinese duo 13-21, 21-19 and 15-8 in the preliminary match of Pool C in front of 15,000 spectators at the Horse Guards Parade.

Brink/Reckermann had secured a spot in the top 16 with two wins in had, they will face Heyer/Chevallier in the last pool match.

Xu and Wu have to beat their last pool opponents Konstantin Semenov/Serguei Prokopie from Russia on Thursday to keep their alive hopes of making the final 16.
