Most people who own a car in Beijing wake up every morning with a familiar feeling of dread, since it's just another day of traffic jams to look forward to. When they drive on the roads, stopping from time to time, they can't help but yearn for the experience of cycling commuters who can breeze past stopped cars and get to their destinations on time with just two wheels. If you have ever wanted to live vicariously through these Beijing bikers but have trouble catching up to them, here are a few snapshots from a whole d ay of car-free fun. This past weekend saw the fourth annual Fixed Gear Revolution here in Beijing, which attracted bike lovers from all over the country. The party is specifically designed for serious bicycle fans, who come to participate in a series of events. Every year, participants compete with each other while making friends at the same time. This time around, the Seoul Fixed Gear Team traveled to the event, bringing bicycle fans and two-wheel performances with them, to join in on the competition. The one-day event was held on Saturday. Maybe this party will inspire you to ditch the sedan and hop on a bicycle too!
