Jiang Nan, project director of "Light of Beacons," has been working nonstop. Launched by Bethel, a public-service nonprofit organization, the project is dedicated to helping handicapped orphans.

Originally planned to open in late November, the Bethel Center in Changping district was still a mess in October, with old, mottled walls, and Jiang wasn't sure they could meet the deadline to make the center ready for children to move in.

Knowing that years ago the paint job of Bethel China's old buildings was sponsored by Nippon Paint China, a renowned painting manufacturer, Jiang got in touch with the company, hoping to get some help. With 1,500 squares meters of outer walls and 4,000 square meters of inner walls and a ceiling to paint, Jiang didn't expect much, and just thought some simple painting work would be good enough.

But to Jiang's surprise, Nippon Paint China was willing to spare no effort to help handicapped children. They came up with a comprehensive painting solution and dazzled Jiang with complete coverage, high quality materials, and a beautiful color scheme.

In order to make sure the children would feel the warmth of love, Nippon Paint China applied their best products to create a vivid end result.

"It'll be worthwhile as long as the children can sense those warm colors come from a place of love. And we hope more people will join Nippon Paint China in helping those children," said Ariel Wu, Nippon Paint China's director of public relations and corporate branding.

The coffee brown of the outsides of walls is like a chocolate treat, sweet and mellow; the light green of the classrooms is like buds in early spring, fresh and exciting; the pastel pink in the dinning halls and game rooms is like kitten's paws, cheerful and soft; the warm yellow in the hallways and bedrooms is like sunshine, warm and comforting.

Nine children moved into the center after the beautiful painting work completed the project. The center is expected to accommodate as many as 40 kids. Jiang lead the children into the hallways for the first time to show off the colorful world awaiting them.
