The foreign ministers of Switzerland and Serbia on Tuesday outlined priorities of their countries during their chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
Swiss Foreign Minister Didier Burkhalter and Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic presented their joint OSCE outline for 2014 and 2015. Each country will chair the organization for one year.
Burkhalter said they wished to "contribute to creating a security community for everyone."
He added the Swiss priorities would be dialogue in the South Caucasus, modernizing military transparency, and improving governance in the security sector.
In addition, combating torture, fighting against terrorism, and protecting persons belonging to national minorities would also be part of the Swiss focus.
Mrkic said he expected long and difficult discussions on many issues including protracted conflicts, dialogue on arms control, and cyber security.
