China International Travel Service (CITS) said on August 19 that they have quit the one-day tour market in Beijing, and that all such tours promoted with the CITS brand are now illegal and counterfeit, the Beijing Daily reports.

According to Zhang Lingjie, general manager of the tourism department of CITS, unlicensed travel agencies distribute advertising flyers that are printed with the CITS logo, offering much cheaper one-day tours that often include compulsory shopping stops at scenic spots.
