An 88-year-old elderly man became the first person from Yanqing county to donate his body to science, the Beijing Daily reported.

Zhang Zhenwu, who had decided to donate his body to the Peking Hospital Health Science Center, passed away on Thursday. Directly after the funeral on Friday, his remains were transported to the center.

Zhang was a retiree from the public affairs bureau in Yanqing county.
