Zhang Wei, the owner of obj.cc, a website that documented and protected old Beijing-style traditional culture, was diagnosed with a malignant tumor on March 10. He is planning to donate the website to historic preservation institutions, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

Zhang has been running the website for 14 years on his own. After he received his diagnosis, he decided to donate the website to research institutions such as museums and archives so that its collection of information about old Beijing can make further contributions to cultural relic protection in China.
