To commemorate the 1937 Battle of Nankou during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1937-45), activities were organized between August 6 to 8, mainly by the Battle of Nankou Research Society.

During the 18-day battle in August 1937, around 6,000 Chinese soldiers sacrificed their lives in the fighting in Nankou, which is nestled between the mountain ranges in Changping district.

Silent video recordings of the battle and a list of Chinese soldiers that were killed have been published. Organized for the occasion were visits to the relic museum and battlefield, and seminars with World War II veterans.
