Russia will receive the first Mistral helicopter carrier from France on Nov. 14, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin was quoted as saying Wednesday.
Rosoboronexport, Russia's state-owned agency for defense-related and dual-use products trade, has received an invitation to arrive in the French Saint-Nazaire shipyard "for the transfer of the first ship, Vladivostok, to Russia and the launch of the second one," Interfax news agency quoted him as saying.
Rogozin said the 1.6-billion-US-dollar Mistral contract was "technically" executed as normal, and Moscow hopes Paris will fulfill its obligations.
"As to political decisions, we assume that France should defend its reputation as a reliable partner, including in the military and technological cooperation sphere," he said.
According to the contract, signed in 2011, France should deliver the first Mistral-class helicopter carrier to Moscow this November and a second one in 2015.
In September, France said it was delaying the decision on the delivery of the first warship, because "conditions are not in place."
