The light installation Lichtgrenze (Light border) is seen to the left of a section of the Berlin wall Bernauer street memorial Saturday. Germany marked 25 years since the euphoric fall of the Berlin Wall Sunday to celebrate the peaceful revolution that ended Europe's Cold War division on November 9, 1989.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel prepares to put a rose on a preserved segment of the Berlin Wall during the commemorations to mark the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall at the Berlin Wall Memorial in Bernauer street in Berlin, on Sunday. A highlight is expected to be the symbolic release of nearly 7,000 illuminated white balloons, pegged along a 15-kilometer stretch of the Wall's former 155-kilometer path, around 1820 GMT.
