China CNR Corporation Limited announced they will provide 60 unmanned subway trains for the Yanfang Line, the first batch of unmanned subway trains produced in the Chinese mainland, the Beijing Daily reported.
Yanfang Line starts at Yanhua Station in Fangshan district and ends at Yancun North Station, where it connects to the Fangshan Line. The train will reach a speed of 80 kilometers per hour and can hold up to 1,262 passengers. Wang Zhonghai, an engineer involved in the unmanned subway train project, said unmanned trains have been used abroad for more than 30 years. The Yanfang Line will be completed in 2015 and will cover 21.4 kilometers.
