Haidian district announced Saturday that they have divided the district into 17 school districts to better allocate education resources, the Beijing Times reported Friday.

The Haidian Commission of Education said that school districts have no rankings, and primary school students can apply for middle schools in different school districts.

In addition, education resources of high-quality high schools will also be distributed to schools in surrounding school districts.

Currently, Haidian has 16 public middle schools that recruit boarding students and 14 private middle schools which are open to primary school graduates across the district.
