Embassies of 28 European countries, including Finland, Lithuania and Estonia, celebrated the 66th Europe Day on May 9 at the Beijing Office of the Delegation of the European Union to China. There are two separate designations for Europe Day, May 5 for the Council of Europe, and May 9 for the EU. May 9 is also known as Schuman Day and celebrates the historical declaration of a united Europe by former French foreign minister Robert Schuman in 1950.
