Editor's Note:
The special exhibition "Ancient Chinese Jade" made a grand return at the National Museum of China on August 18, 2023, offering a public display of this important aspect of Chinese traditional culture. As one of the special exhibitions at the museum, the new version of the exhibition has undergone comprehensive adjustments and enhancements compared to the previous version in 2011. It systematically explores the development and profound heritage of ancient Chinese jade culture through five interconnected units that delve into the historical origins of Chinese jade culture. This exhibition features 480 artifacts, ranging from ancient times to the late Qing Dynasty, with a remarkable number of over 80 first-class cultural relics. Additionally, the exhibition has also included more than 20 various mineral specimens from the collection of the Geological Museum of China. The sheer quantity of exhibits and the high caliber of cultural relics on display make this exhibition a rare occurrence among similar exhibitions in China. Photos: Li Hao/GT
